The Combined Military Services Museum is like no other. From the thousands of military artefacts on display, your students will have the opportunity to see original objects from various historical events right here in Essex! With a focus on British militaria, the museum can tailor specific guided talks and educational packages to fit the needs of any school and their curriculum.
From the Napoleonic Wars, to the British Homefront during World War II, the Cockleshell Heroes, the British SAS and Special Operations Executive, or even a look at the hundreds of rare weapons and uniforms on display, the Combined Military Services Museum is sure to satisfy any student’s curiosity with a chance to see history come to life! Whether it be for primary and secondary schools or colleges and universities, the Combined Military Services Museum allows teacher staff to choose from a number of detailed 20–25-minute presentations of any of our collections.
For the 2025-26 educational year we currently offer:
A large forecourt area is available for students to relax and explore the larger exhibits on display. Plenty of parking space is available for coach buses just outside the museum. We recommend a two-hour visit or more to fully explore the collections.
