On Saturday 13 June we are proud to host a day of SOE talks. Trustee Gary Weight will begin the day with a background talk which will be followed by Nikki Bennett, daughter of SOE Agent André Hue, relating the extraordinary account of her father’s life as a Secret Agent parachuted into Brittany 150 miles behind lines on D-Day 6 June 1944. This will be followed by author Paul Smiddy who will be giving a talk on the RAF Special Duties Squadrons that supplied Resistance units and flew exceptionally dangerous missions in Lysander and Hudson aircraft picking up and dropping off agents from Clandestine Airfields during the full moon periods. Paul has recently published a book on this subject ‘Moonlight Crusaders’ and will be available for signing copies which will be available on the day.
