This month the museum received a new particularly large artefact, a 25-Pounder Artillery piece! Originally from the Imperial War Museum Duxford, it has kindly been given to us as to add to our outside display, alongside our other artillery pieces and various other interesting historical pieces.

Come and see the 25-Pounder and our other new items at the museum today.
Over twelve thousand examples of 25-Pounder’s were made. It was the backbone of the British Artillery during the Second World War. Chosen because of its multi-role versatility and rate of fire, it served during WWII and through to the Malayan Emergency in the 1960’s. Proving itself to be a good piece of equipment.
