Treasurer Trustee Vacancy

We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking individual with a finance or accounting background to join the Board of Trustees of Combined Military Services Museum as our new Treasurer.

The Combined Military Services Museum (CMSM) is looking to appoint a Treasurer Trustee to join a dedicated team on the Board of Trustees.

Treasurer Trustee Responsibilities:

The Treasurer oversees the financial matters of the CMSM and ensures that the fiscal practices adhere to sector best practice to safeguard its financial position.

  • Lead on budgeting, banking, financial planning/reserving and accounting, liaising as necessary with the Board, the EO, staff and auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the CMSM bank accounts.
  • Produce quarterly management accounts and written quarterly financial status reports.
  • Contribute to the effective governance of the charity.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.
  • Devote the necessary amount of time to the role.

Treasurer Trustee Requirements:

We are looking for someone with financial or accounting qualifications and experience and it would also be desirable to have:

Experience of charity governance and working with or as part of a Board of Trustees. Experience of charity finance, fundraising and pension schemes.

Duration of Term:

Trustees serve a term of 3 years and are eligible for re- appointment up to a maximum of 3 terms.

Remuneration:

The role is unremunerated, although expenses for travel may be claimed.
